What type of St Kitts Nevis accommodation should you choose? This is a question some people have difficulty deciding on.
But why is this so you may ask? The answer is simple... the islands of St Kitts and Nevis have a diverse offering of vacation accommodation covering numerous categories and price ranges. In local terms we say 'we have something to suit everyone's pocket'. But don't worry, I'm sure that whatever your choice of St Kitts Nevis accommodation, be it hotel, beach resort, plantation inn, villa rental, beachfront condo, timeshare, tourist apartment, guest house or bed and breakfast, you are destined to have a great time.
St Kitts and Nevis are both small islands, thus no point on the islands is very far away from the beaches. In fact, quite a few St Kitts Nevis accommodations are located on the beaches. And if your vacation accommodation is not on the beach, in most instances it will either be within walking distance or a short drive away. If you are not the beach type and would prefer something nestled in the hillsides, you won't have any trouble finding that type of St Kitts Nevis accommodation.
In some countries, accommodations on or close to the coast usually cost more and leave your pockets a lot emptier. This is also true for some St Kitts Nevis accommodations. However, you can also find some knockout deals on offer for stays at some fantastic St Kitts Nevis accommodations on the beach.
To help you choose the type of St Kitts Nevis accommodation for your next trip, below I provide a listing and some information about the main types. I have also provide some links to hotel overviews in our hotel booking engine.
There are a wide range of hotels and resorts including the luxurious and the not so luxurious, all inclusives, beach resorts and all suite hotel to name a few. The luxurious hotels and resorts pamper you and cater to your every need so much that you will definitely want to return for more pampering. But don't rule out the not so luxurious properties though, because they are beautifully decorated, comfortable and offer some of the same amenities (swimming pools, restaurants and bars) as those St Kitts Nevis accommodations that are a few notches up the ladder.
Whether you go for the more upscale hotel/resort or one on the lower end, one thing is certain; the warm hospitality and friendly nature of the staff at the hotels and resorts in St. Kitts and Nevis will help ensure that your stay is memorable. So if you are looking for a vacation that is free of the hassles of cooking and cleaning, one where someone else takes care of you, (or pampers you if your pocket allows), you will want to consider a hotel/resort as your preferred choice of St Kitts Nevis accommodation.

From what I've read and been told, the plantation inns of St Kitts and Nevis were originally old sugar plantations dating back to the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Today, these beautiful plantation inns, some with carefully restored buildings (including the great houses and sugar mills), others built from the ruins of the sugar plantations, are among the most exquisite and exotic of St Kitts Nevis accommodation. They are either perched on the slopes of the mountains in St Kitts and Nevis, amidst lush vegetation and carefully landscaped gardens, or along the coast among the swaying coconut palms. This type of St Kitts Nevis accommodation is for the sophisticated traveller who prefers elegance, seclusion, peace and tranquility. Honeymooners will also find that the plantation inns of St Kitts and Nevis are romantic getaways to start their new lives together. And even if a stay in the plantation inns is out of your reach, there is no reason why you should pass up a visit to these St Kitts and Nevis historic inns, even if it's only to walk in the gardens or to enjoy a quiet meal.

If you'd like to feel more at home, like you are living on the islands rather than visiting, then you should definitely consider staying in a condominium or villa. The condominiums and some of the villas more fit into the resort villa type of facility with individual units within a complex, with shared facilities such as swimming pools and tennis courts. But there are lots of individual villas located on individual lots of land with their own private pools and some with tennis courts. Large families and parties will find this type of St Kitts Nevis accommodation more suitable and economical than staying in a hotel, especially if you plan on staying longer that just a few days. Many repeat visitors tend to go for a St Kitts Nevis villa rental over other types of accommodation. This is not surprising since many say that once you've stayed in a villa, you will not want to stay in a hotel room again.
I have visited quite a few villas on St. Kitts and Nevis and how I wish I could have stayed in them. Perhaps one of these days my wish will come through. The decor, antique furnishings, and beautifully landscaped grounds combine to give you that 'at home' feeling. And in some of the villas, once you've stocked up on food supplies, I see no reason why you'd want to leave the property. Ok, you may want to leave to go to the beach or go on a tour of the island, but other than that...

Although not a very common type of St Kitts Nevis accommodation, it is available. The name is self explanatory so there's no need to say any more.
Apartments may either be self contained units within a complex or attached to a family home. Some of these apartments are of the luxury type, complete with air conditioning and the latest modern conveniences, while others may only include basic appliances. Whatever the case, they are very comfortable, and will be less expensive than renting a villa. Most are available on a short or long term basis.
This type of accommodation does not come with the frills and fancies one would expect at a hotel. Hence, they are usually very basic accommodation and don't offer meal plans. Great idea if you just want a comfortable place to sleep (or as we say in local terms 'just somewhere to rest your head').
